Thinking about giving up on the blogging thing... I have used this blog mainly as a way of keeping accountable and keeping record of what we have done but I am thinking I can do that offline just as well. Not sure yet...

Started the week with sick kids and ended the week with a sick Mommy!(Figures- just as I felt we were back to normal from our break!) We made the most of it. LOTS of reading time= more snuggle time- documentaries and talking :)

Weekly Report #19

I can't believe the P.S. kids were still out of school on Monday!?! I was looking forward to a fresh start this week but was thrown off by the knocks and calls on Monday morning. The kids have a hard time focusing when they know their friends are out front playing :( Busy week for us with lots of things going on, trying to stay on task was very difficult and I am sure that is to be the norm around here for a while. Trying to get the kids back in to the swing of things--- SO HARD! I am ready to get back to our regular schedule and they are fighting me the whole way. I curse the public school breaks!!!!! I decided to hold off on starting our Latin studies this week... hopefully next week....

Another strange week. Started out good but had some unexpected things happen towards the end end of the week, so we didn't finish as strong as I had hoped. Camera broke so I missed a ton of photo opportunities :( Computer crashed- what a week... Oh well, it's almost Christmas! We are all REALLY looking forward to our getaway!!

Weekly Report # 15

We started the week off on a really high note. The kids both seemed very motivated (Our history switch seems to have encouraged the attitude change)
DD has been a reading maniac. Sneaking up, finishing whole chapter books in a night. She is loving the Baby Sitter's Club- Little Sister's books and read 3 just this week! DS seems to have finally realized what I have been telling him for years- the sooner you start the sooner you finish! It has made a huge difference time wise for us! Because he has finally figured this out (so it seems at the moment- hopefully it lasts) Our school days end much sooner! We have had more free time for the fun stuff!

MATH-
DD is still breezing through math. We are working on multiplication in her book but she already taught herself the basics(1,1,10,100) so it has been really easy review for her. She completed 2 lessons per day this week.

Weekly Report # 7

I finally went to the dr this week after being sick for about 2 weeks, I found out I had the flu AND tonsilitis. After getting some meds I am finally starting to feel human again.


MATH-

ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS-
Reviewed Parts of language - Nouns, verbs, sentences, prefixes, suffixes,antonyms, synonyms-
Learned about abbreviations.
Discussed Folktales, Tall tales, storytellers, Comedy, Limericks, Sayings
DD- Workbook Page 52-55 - (Drafting)
DD- Wrkbk 2- Pages 53-63 (Thinking Skills, Reading Skills,Language Skills)

The kids put on a talent show, making a script and even writing their own original song! They worked on it for days while I was sick and put on the show Wednesday night! Very very cute!

Weekly Report # 6

Not a good week by any standards. We still had a house guest and we were all really sick. The kids started feeling better by the end of the week. I on the other hand did not, nor did Grandma. (Still not feeling well if you can believe that!) We accomplished nothing, not even visiting time as we were all sick in bed for the most part! What a bummer!


BIBLE-

SCIENCE-
DS/DD- Both spent two entire days making projects with Electronic Snap Circuits. They literally made projects from 8 am until dinner. They made so many cool projects!

SPORTS/EXTRA CURRICULAR-
DS- Football Practice 3x
DS- Football Game
All other activities were cancelled due to being sick.

This week was a little different as we had a house guest- Grandma from California came to visit! Also by mid week DS and I (And Grandma!) were all sick.
